The last one!

I finished my last Christmas present! These are for my two little sisters. They asked for some ear warmers like they had seen in a shop, but in their favourite colours :) They're very simple, an inch of rib, two inches of stockinette, and another inch of rib. Oh and two huge pom poms :)
I hope they like them!

Easy shoe bag

Do you have a friend with a bit of a shoe buying habit? (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?)  Well here’s a quick and stylish present idea. A cute little bag just large enough for a pair of your high heeled finest.

A friend commissioned me to make this for her friend for Christmas.  The friend walks to work in trainers and she wanted a nice shoe bag to keep her shoes in – great idea!  She specifically wanted a shoe print on the fabric which I managed to find here.

The bag itself is just a simple drawstring bag. I got the instructions from Sew What! Bags but I’m sure there are trillions of easy drawstring bag tutorials out there if you need one.  I lined it with a pale pink polka dot fabric and included the Crafty Christmas Club essential – a ‘handmade’ label.
I’ve got a bit of leftover fabric so I’ll definitely be making a few more. x

A Little Smock

I love making this little vintage smock for the little girls in the family. The pattern is free and easy to adapt and personalise. In the past I've made it reversable, with pockets, in plain and print fabrics. It has come out fantastic every time. You can get the pattern here at Mayfly.

This time I have made a little smock for one of the many little girlies in the family out of a single layer of retro print cotton and vintage candy stripe bias binding. I used a single layer this time so it can be worn over a shirt or dress or as a lightweight summer top on its own. Because the pattern is a single piece it is super quick and easy. The odd shape above crosses over at the back and ties at the shoulders.
